Zelenecká Lhota is a village and municipality in Jičín District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic.[1]

History[]

The first written mention of the village comes from 1532.

Exiles[]

As in many other villages (Dolní Podůlší, etc.), non-Catholics from Zelenecká Lhota went into exile during the counter-reformation. Subjects lived in fear that if they left the faith of their ancestors, they would not be saved, but if they adhered to it, they would lose children, freedom, or their lives.[2] The descendants of these exiles live in Germany, the USA, Canada, Australia, and other countries.
