A general election is to be held in the U.S. state of Arkansas on November 8, 2022. All of Arkansas' executive officers are up for election as well as all of Arkansas' four seats in the United States House of Representatives and one of its U.S. senators. Primaries will be held on May 24, 2022, with runoff primaries on June 21. Polls will be open from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM CST.[1]

Governor[]

Incumbent Republican governor Asa Hutchinson is term-limited and cannot run for re-election. One Republican and four Democrats are declared candidates.

Incumbent lieutenant governor Tim Griffin dropped from the gubernatorial race in February 2021 and is instead running for attorney general.[3]

Leslie Rutledge, the state's retiring attorney general, withdrew her bid for governor in November 2021, and said she would instead seek nomination as lieutenant governor.[4]

Lieutenant governor[]

The incumbent lieutenant governor is term-limited and is instead running for attorney general. As of October 2021, no Democrats and five Republicans had declared their intention to run for lieutenant governor.[10] In November 2021, retiring attorney general Leslie Rutledge withdrew from the governor's race and said she was running for lieutenant governor.[4]

Secretary of state[]

Incumbent secretary John Thurston is running for reelection. He is facing two other Republicans and two Democrats.

Attorney general[]

Incumbent attorney general Leslie Rutledge is term-limited and cannot run for re-election, and is instead running for lieutenant governor. Multiple people have declared their candidacy for the position.[23]

Jason Davis, attorney and former Pulaski County election commissioner, had announced his candidacy for attorney general, though withdrew in June 2021.[24][25]

State treasurer[]

Incumbent treasurer Dennis Milligan is term-limited and cannot run for re-election, and is instead running for state auditor. In February 2021, Republican Mathew Pitsch declared his candidacy for treasurer of Arkansas in the 2022 election.[26]
