The Air University (AU) (Urdu: جامعہ فضایہ) established in public sector in 2002 is managed by a Board of Governors chaired by the Chief of Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The university is located in PAF Complex, Sector E-9, Islamabad, Pakistan. It has two functional campuses, Aerospace and Aviation Campus at Kamra and a campus at Multan.

The university offers undergraduate and post-graduate programs in medicine, computer science, cyber security, artificial intelligence, engineering, business management and humanities.[1][2] It is ranked among the country's top ten universities in the Engineering and Technology category by the Higher Education Commission.[3] Air University is recognized by Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) and accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council and Pakistan Medical Commission. It is a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities of the United Kingdom[4] and International Association of Universities[5]

Overview[]

Air University is a federally chartered public sector university in Pakistan. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) established the university in 2002. Its status is granted as civilian and offers programmes in undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral studies. The university is under the management of PAF's education command.[6] The main campus of the university is located in Islamabad, Pakistan. It has two other functional campuses, Aerospace and Aviation Campus[7] at Kamra and a campus at Multan.

The university offers undergraduate and post-graduate programs in medicine,[8] computer science, cyber security, artificial intelligence, engineering, business management and humanities. Its research is directed towards the development of Engineering, Linguistics & Literature, and Management Sciences. It is ranked among the country's top ten universities in the Engineering and Technology category by the Higher Education Commission,[3] Pakistan. Air University is recognized by Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) and accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council and Pakistan Medical Commission. It is a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities[4] of the United Kingdom and International Association of Universities.

There is one main campus in Islamabad, two other functional campuses in Kamra and Multan, and one under construction in Islamabad.

CPEC Research Center[]

China–Pakistan Economic Corridor Center of Excellence at Air University School of Management, Islamabad was established in Feb 2018. CPEC Center of Excellence aims to understand how the contribution of Export-processing zones towards human welfare, in post-CPEC scenario can be maximized in Pakistan.

Main Campus[]

The main campus is situated close to the Margalla foothills in the south east corner of sector E-9 (PAF Complex) of Islamabad.

Air University Multan campus[]

In 2011, Air University established its second campus in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in management sciences, accounting and finance, information technology, mathematics and computer science.

South Campus[]

A state of the art campus is planned in Sector H-11/2 of Islamabad. CDA allotted 17.5 acres of land. Currently construction of Phase 1 is underway with planned completion in the year 2022.

Air University Aerospace and Aviation Campus Kamra[]

The establishment of the campus in close proximity of Aviation Research Innovation & Development (AVRID), Aviation Design Institute (AVDI) and a Comprehensive Certification Agency has transformed it into a National Aerospace Science and Technology Park.
