Albania has an embassy in Canberra. Australia's Ambassador to Albania is subordinate to the embassy in Italy.

History[]

In 1985, relations were established by Australia with Albania.[1] At the time, Australia's embassy in Yugoslavia covered representation for Albania.[1]

In 2018, the Diaspora minister of Albania, Pandeli Majko officially visited Australia and met with Australian Government officials from the Departments of Education and Training, Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs.[2] Majko also met Albanian Australians from Albanian organisations in Victoria and New South Wales.[2] In late 2020, Albania opened an embassy in Canberra and its flag was added placed along the shore of Lake Burley Griffin which displays flags of all countries with official representation in Australia.[3][4][5]
