Jurong Bird Park Panorail was a 1.7-kilometre (1.1 mi) loop monorail system which ran within the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore. The system was constructed by Von Roll of Switzerland, who also built the Sentosa Monorail and Singapore Cable Car.

The monorail system used four cars, with a driver in the front car, and seats in each car, with no standing capacity. Tickets cost $5 per adult and $3 for children below 12 years old, allowing limited travel for one day. Each ticket was good for 1 round around the park only. All stations were accessible to wheelchair users via elevators and seats in the last cabin could be folded up to accommodate wheelchair users. One full ride took 12 minutes.

Stations[]

The panorail had three stations:

  • Main Station, near the entrance and amphitheatre
  • Lory Station, near the Lory Loft
  • Waterfall Station, near the Waterfall Aviary and Jurong Falls

Closure[]

The Panorail ceased operations on 1 April 2012 after operating for almost 20 years and was replaced by trackless train or "tram" vehicles which are identical to those at the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. Fares for the tram ride remain the same as the Panorail but a single tram ride ticket is good for 3 rounds compared to 1 round on the monorail.[1]
