Kalwa (Pronunciation: [kəɭʋaː]) is a city situated in Thane district, in the State of Maharashtra, India. The nearest railway station is the Kalwa railway station on the Central Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway.[1]

On July 29, 2014, Kalwa, along with Mumbra, became first railway station in the country to get free WiFi access for commuters and general public.[2]

Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital, which is run by Thane Municipal Corporation, is located in Kalwa.

Kalwa is developing along with the neighbouring areas of Bhaskar Nagar Kharegaon and Parsik Nagar. Construction of the 3rd Kalwa Bridge is also nearing to completion which would ease the traffic at the Kalwa Road junction where Mumbai-Pune Road and Thane Belapur Road meet.
