Knobel is an impact crater in the Mare Tyrrhenum quadrangle of Mars, located at 6.7°S latitude and 226.8°W longitude and is in the northern end of Terra Cimmeria. It is 123 kilometers in diameter. It was named after British astronomer Edward Knobel; the name was approved in 1973 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature (WGPSN).[1]
