This is a list of best-selling game consoles by region . This page consists of countries in Asia, North America, Europe, and other PAL regions , also adding NTSC regions . PAL , short for Phase Alternating Line, is a colour encoding system for analogue television used in broadcast television systems in most countries broadcasting at 576i , such as Europe and Asia. NTSC , named after the National Television System Committee, is the analog television color system that was used in North America from 1954 and until digital conversion.
