The following is a complete list of people who held the office of President of Turkey. There have been twelve heads of state since the inception of the republican period in 1923, following the Turkish War of Independence.

After the coup d'état on 27 May 1960, the National Unity Committee took the power over country and ruled through a military junta under Martial law.

General Cemal Gürsel served as acting President from 27 May 1960 to 10 October 1961.
