Lithuania was represented by 4Fun at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Love or Leave".

Before Eurovision[]

National final[]

The national final to select Lithuania's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 involved a six-week-long process that commenced on 27 January 2007 and concluded with a winning song and artist on 3 March 2007. The six shows took place at the LRT studios in Vilnius and were hosted by Rolandas Vilkončius and Gabrielė Bartkutė. The shows were broadcast on LRT televizija as well as online via the broadcaster's website lrt.lt.

Format[]

For the 2007 competition, entries initially competed in three quarter-final shows, each with different subgroups: newcomers, semi-established artists and established artists. The process for these three subgroups was as follows:[1]

  • Entries performed by newcomers participated in the first quarter-final on 27 January 2007 where the top four entries advanced.
  • Entries performed by semi-established artists participated in the second quarter-final on 3 February 2007 where the top seven entries advanced.
  • Entries performed by established artists participated in the third quarter-final on 10 February 2007 where the top eight entries advanced.

The fourth and fifth shows were the semi-finals where the top five entries advanced per semi-final. A wildcard was selected by LRT out of the eliminated entries to advance in the competition at the conclusion of the fifth show. The sixth show, held on 3 March 2007, was the final where the winner was selected from the remaining eleven entries.[2]

The results of the quarter-finals and semi-finals were determined by the combination of votes from a three-member jury panel and public televoting. During all shows, the jury panel consisted of varying members from show to show and each jury member had an equal stake in the final result and the public televote had a weighting equal to the votes of four jury members. The public could submit their votes through telephone and SMS voting. Ties were decided in favour of the entry that received the most votes from the public. In the final, the results were determined by two rounds of public televoting: the first round selected the top three entries and the second round selected the winner.

Competing entries[]

On 23 October 2006, LRT opened the submissions for artists and songwriters to submit their entries. The submission deadline concluded on 15 December 2006.[3] On 17 January 2007, LRT announced the 37 artists selected for the competition.[4] On 26 January 2007, the final changes to the list of 37 competing acts were made with the withdrawal of Vilija Matačiūnaitė and Artas.[5]

Shows[]
