Mukim Liang is a mukim in Belait District, Brunei.[2] The population was 14,301 in 2016.[1]

Geography[]

The mukim is located in the north of the Belait District, bordering the South China Sea to the north, Mukim Telisai in Tutong District to the north-east, Mukim Bukit Sawat to the south-east, Mukim Labi to the south and Mukim Seria to the west.[3]

Demographics[]

As of ,[1] the population of Mukim Liang comprised 7,353 males and 6,948 females. The mukim had 2,607 households occupying 2,602 dwellings. Among the population, 4,621 lived in urban areas, while the remainder of 9,680 lived in rural areas.

However, the , which oversees the mukims and villages in the district, organises the villages above into only three villages, namely Kampong Lumut I, Kampong Lumut II and Kampong Sungai Liang, whereby each of this village is assigned with a village head (ketua kampung).[citation needed] The village heads of Kampong Lumut I and II oversee Kampong Lumut, Kampong Lumut Tersusun, Kampong Sungai Bakong, Kampong Sungai Kuru, Kampong Sungai Tali and Kampong Sungai Taring, as well as the area Rancangan Perumahan Negara Lumut and the military area Lumut Camp.[citation needed] Meanwhile, the village head of Kampong Sungai Liang oversees Kampong Agis-Agis, Kampong Keluyoh, Kampong Lilas, Kampong Perumpong, Kampong Sungai Gana, Kampong Sungai Kang, Kampong Sungai Lalit and Kampong Tunggulian.[citation needed]
