Pozzolo Formigaro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) southeast of Turin and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southeast of Alessandria. As of 1-1-2017, it had a population of 4,758 and an area of 36.18 square kilometres (13.97 sq mi).[3]

Pozzolo Formigaro borders the following municipalities: Bosco Marengo, Cassano Spinola, Novi Ligure, Tortona, and Villalvernia.

The academics Francesco Remotti and Ezia Gavazza were both born in the town.
