Sant'Agata Fossili is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Turin and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 425 and an area of 8.0 square kilometres (3.1 sq mi).[3]

The municipality of Sant'Agata Fossili contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Podigliano, Torre Sterpi, and Giusolana.

Sant'Agata Fossili borders the following municipalities: Carezzano, Cassano Spinola, Castellania Coppi, Gavazzana, and Sardigliano.
