Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Urdu: تمغہ امتیاز‎; transl. Award of Excellence), also spelled as Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, is a state-organised honour of Pakistan. It is given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their achievements. While it is a civilian/military award, it can be bestowed upon officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces and worn on their uniform. It can also be awarded to foreign citizens who have performed great service to Pakistan.

This award is le lowest level of the 4 awards given for "excellence" There are four levels of such awards The highest is Nishan (Order; Urdu: نشان‎), 2nd is Hilal (Crescent; Urdu: ہلال‎), 3rd is Sitara (Star; Urdu: ستارہ‎) and the 4th is Tamgha (Medal; Urdu: تمغہ‎).[2]
