Trhová Kamenice is a market town in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has around 900 inhabitants.
History[]
The town was first mentioned in records in 1439, although it was also mentioned earlier in 1242 as a gift written in a deed. The probable founder was the monastery at Vilemov.
In medieval times, the town was a trading and industrial centre. Its industries included ironworks, lumber, and charcoal.[2]
In 1945, this town was under Nazi occupation. As several Nazi troops were passing through the town from Chrudim back to Nazi Germany, they massacred 14 people while finding resistance partisans.
