Hlinsko (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦlɪnsko]) is a town in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 9,600 inhabitants. Hlinsko stands on the banks of the Chrudimka river, at the foot of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. It is the natural centre of its region called Hlinecko.

History[]

Hlinsko's history can be traced back to the 11th century, the first written mention comes from 1349.

Infrastructure[]

There are 3 primary schools, a grammar school, a swimming-pool, and 3 supermarkets in the town.

Economy[]

There is a significant dairy company Mlékárna Hlinsko in the town. The company was founded in 1939 and the production started in 1943.
