The University of Exeter Business School is one of the leading business schools in Europe, and is ranked as being among the best business schools in the world. Founded by the University of Exeter in 2008, the University of Exeter Business School spans two vibrant campuses covering the South West, UK: Streatham Campus within the city of Exeter in Devon and Penryn Campus near the town of Falmouth in Cornwall.

The Business School offers undergraduate BSc and postgraduate degrees in business, economics, marketing, finance, accounting and management programmes. The school is also home to The Exeter MBA which focuses on sustainability, a dedicated Master in Management programme and specialised MSc degrees, as well as MRes and PhD research programmes.[1] The school is in the elite group of business schools worldwide that possess the distinguished Triple Crown Accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.

The University of Exeter Business School has an international student body made up of 112 different nationalities, with 60 partner institutions in 25 countries worldwide and 27,201 alumni, over half of whom are based internationally across 160 countries.

2008 The University of Exeter Business School becomes a fully integrated business school, with a £21 million investment to support its expansion and internationalisation.
2009 The Business School introduces its ‘With Industrial Experience (WIE)’ degree option, giving students placement opportunities to enhance their employability and build their understanding of the international business environment.
2011 The Business School’s ‘Building One’ is opened, a brand new £18 million teaching space.
2011 The Business School’s MBA programme becomes the One Planet MBA, and receives AMBA’s ‘Highly Commended Award for Innovation’.
2012 The University of Exeter becomes a member of the prestigious Russell Group of UK universities.
2013 The Business School joins an elite group of international management educators accredited by EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).
2014 Over 73% of the Business School’s research is rated either world-leading or internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.
2015 The Financial Times ranks the Business School’s MSc Financial Analysis and Fund Management, and MSc International Management programmes in the Top 100 for the first time.
2016 The Financial Times ranks the Business School as a Top 100 European Business School for the first time.
2017 The One Planet MBA is ranked as a Tier 1 course in CEO Magazine’s Global MBA Rankings for the first time.
2017 The Business School’s disciplines of accounting and finance, management and economics are ranked in The Complete University Guide for the first time, at 5th, 6th and 11th respectively.
2017 The One Planet MBA becomes The Exeter MBA, and is ranked number 1 in the Corporate Knights' Better World MBA Rankings.
2017 The Business School is one of the first UK universities to join the prestigious QTEM network of global institutions and organisations offering students the opportunity to take part in the quantitatively focused QTEM Programme.
2017 The Business School is named the number 1 Business School in the UK for graduate outcomes.
2018 The Exeter Centre for Circular Economy is launched by Dame Ellen MacArthur, and the University is recognised by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation as a Global Pioneer for Circular Economy.
2018 The Business School launches two new Degree Apprenticeships, and is the first member of the Russell Group to launch both level 6 and level 7 qualifications in leadership and management.
2018 The Business School’s WIE degree option is nominated for a QS Reimagine Education Award.
2019 The Exeter Centre for Entrepreneurship is launched by successful businesswoman and Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden.
2019 The University of Exeter and Dragon Capital create the “Dragon Capital Chair in Biodiversity Economics”, committing £1.6 million to fund research that encourages market behaviours that foster the preservation of the natural environment.
2019 The Business School is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for the first time.
2019 The Business School is triple-accredited, and joins an elite group of less than one hundred business schools globally to achieve the coveted “triple crown” accreditation status.
2019 The Economist ranks the Business School’s MBA as a top 100 MBA programme and 5th in the world for student quality.
2020 Celebrities join Business School professor Gail Whiteman in a virtual call to address Arctic change during ‘digital Davos’, organised by Arctic Basecamp, the climate action campaign group founded by Professor Gail Whiteman.
2020 The Exeter MBA is ranked 11th globally and 4th in Europe in Corporate Knights’ Better World MBA rankings.
2021 The University of Exeter Business School launches Exeter Expertise, a new Thought Leadership platform where academic research and insights are distilled to help readers tackle the world’s greatest challenges.

Research[]

The University of Exeter Business School's research is recognised as world-leading and internationally excellent (REF, 2014), and recent years have seen the School benefit from investment into attracting and recruiting leading international researchers, research teams and distinguished professors. With the launch of research centres in the circular economy, environmental economics, entrepreneurship, and the digital economy the Business School now has 11 research centres that provide a focus for research collaboration within the School, across the University of Exeter and externally:

The newly launched Research Methods Centre provides a forum for training PhD students, early career researchers and experienced academics alike to help foster a community of learning and enable faculty to publish in leading academic journals, generate income and deliver impactful research. In recent years the School’s research has impacted on many global and national institutions including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the European Commission as well as HMRC, DEFRA and the Met Office.

The University of Exeter Business School has recently launched Exeter Expertise, a new Thought Leadership platform where academic research and insights covering three key areas: Environmental Intelligence, Responsible Leadership, and Technological Transformation are distilled to help readers tackle the world’s greatest challenges.

The University of Exeter Business School is part of an elite group of business schools worldwide that possess the distinguished "triple-crown" accreditation from the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), AMBA (Association of MBAs) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System).

The School is a UK-based international Business School which is part of the University of Exeter, a Russell Group university amongst the top 200 universities worldwide according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 and QS World University Rankings 2021, two of the most influential global league tables. The Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021 ranks Exeter in 12th position in the UK. The Complete University Guide 2021 lists Exeter in 12th place in the UK, 8th in the Russell Group of leading research intensive universities.

The University of Exeter has four times been awarded a prestigious Queen's Anniversary Prize. The most recent award in 2020 was made to a team of scientists for the pivotal role they have played to expose the devastating effect that plastics pollution has on the health of humans and wildlife.
