The 2020 Montana Secretary of State election was held on November 3, 2020, to elect the secretary of state of the U.S. state of Montana . Incumbent Republican Montana Secretary of State Corey Stapleton was elected in 2016 with 55.5% of the vote.[1] Stapleton has announced he would not seek re-election, instead running unsuccessfully in the Republican primary for the open U.S. House seat in Montana .[2]
