The 2021 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic,[1] to be replaced by the league cup tournament, 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara.[2]
Teams[]
Cebu F.C. was given a provisional club license, which would have allow the club to debut in the cancelled 2021 season, while potential new entries are Laos and Rapids F.C. from Cagayan de Oro.[3][4][5]
Maharlika Manila and United City did not enter the 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara but have expressed intentions to return for the 2022 season.[6][7][8]
