Goondi Bend is a rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2016 census, Goondi Bend had a population of 594 people.[1]

History[]

The name Goondi is thought to be an Aboriginal word meaning elbow.[2]

Goondi Provisional School opened on 17 February 1898.On 1 January 1909 it became Goondi State School.[3]

Goondi State School is a government primary (Prep-6) school for boys and girls at 78 Maple Street (
