Haniska, Prešov District

Haniska (Hungarian: Eperjesenyicke) is a village and municipality in the Prešov District, Prešov Region in eastern Slovakia.

History[]

In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1288.

Geography[]

The municipality lies at an altitude 233 metres and covers an area of 1.94 km2 (0.75 sq mi) (2020-06-30/-07-01).[1]

Population[]

It has a population of about 732 people (2020-12-31).[2]

Points of interest[]

At Haniska, there is a mediumwave broadcasting station, which uses a 220 metres tall guyed mast.
