Moldovița (Ukrainian: Молдовіца; German: Russ Moldawitza) is a commune located in Suceava County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Argel, Demăcușa, Moldovița, and Rașca.
A Latin-rite Catholic Diocese of Moldovița with see here existed from 1418 to 1550.
Population[]
Once populated by a Ukrainian majority, as a result of Romanianization the national composition of the commune changed dramatically compared to 1930 (52.97% of Ukrainians, 17.27% of Romanians, 13.54% of Jews, 11.15% of Germans, 3.45% of Poles and 1.27% of Russians).
According to the 2002 Romanian census, there were 5,021 people living in the commune. The national composition thereof was:
