The 2022 season will be the Cleveland Browns' 70th in the National Football League (NFL), their 74th overall and their third under the head coach/general manager tandem of Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry. The Browns will look to improve upon their 8–9 record from the previous season.

Notes

  • Cleveland received a third-round selection and a 2023 third-round selection as a result of Minnesota hiring former Browns' vice president of football operations Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as general manager. This selection was awarded as part of 2020 Resolution JC-2A, which rewards teams for developing minority coaches and front office personnel.[1]
  • Cleveland acquired a fourth-round selection (later traded to Houston) and a 2021 fifth-round selection from Detroit in exchange for 2021 fourth- and seventh-round selections.[2]
  • Cleveland and Detroit swapped seventh-round selections in a trade that sent QB David Blough from Cleveland to Detroit.[3]
  • Cleveland traded their fifth- and sixth-round selections to Dallas for WR Amari Cooper and a sixth-round selection.[4]
  • Cleveland traded their first-round selection and a fourth-round selection acquired from Detroit, as well as their 2023 first- and third-round selections and 2024 first- and fourth-round selections to Houston for QB Deshaun Watson and a 2024 sixth-round selection.
  • Cleveland traded QB Case Keenum to Buffalo in exchange for their seventh-round selection.
