The Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan is a 795-room hotel at 1601 Broadway in the Times Square area of Midtown Manhattan in New York City,[2] between 48th and 49th Streets.[3] At 480 feet (150 m)[3] with 46 floors,[2] it is the 94th tallest hotel in the world, the 29th tallest hotel in the United States, and the 15th-tallest hotel in New York City. The hotel was designed by Alan Lapidus and opened on December 1, 1989, as the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza-Manhattan.[4]

The hotel is a mixed-use skyscraper with the 795-key Crowne Plaza hotel, 7,700 square feet (720 m2) of ground-story retail space, 197,000 square feet (18,300 m2) of office space, and a 159-space parking garage. New York's largest conference center, the American Management Association's Executive Conference Center, is on the sixth through eighth floors with a total of 88,066 square feet (8,181.6 m2). Learning Tree International has 25,000 square feet (2,300 m2) and the New York Sports Club has 28,418 square feet (2,640.1 m2).[2] In 2019, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts began building a store in the retail space,[5] which opened in September 2020.[6][7]

The hotel is the flagship of the Crowne Plaza brand. In 2008, the hotel underwent an $85 million renovation, revamping the lobby, restaurant, and bar areas, as well as updating all of the guest rooms and more than 23,000 square feet (2,100 m2) of function space. Amenities include the New York Sports Club on the 15th floor, the Broadway 49 Bar & Lounge overlooking Broadway, Brasserie 1605, two business centers, concierge, room service, and on-site valet parking.

In April 2018, Vornado Realty Trust refinanced the hotel with a $250 million loan from Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.[2]
