DYQC (106.7 FM), broadcasting as 1067 Home Radio, is a radio station owned and operated by Aliw Broadcasting Corporation. Its studios are located at the G/F Fortune Life Bldg., Osmeña Blvd. Cebu City; its transmitter is located at the 3/F Ludo and Luym Bldg., Plaridel St., cor. Osmeña Blvd., Cebu City. Amid the lockdown for COVID-19 Pandemic, it operates daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.[1][2]

History[]

1992-1998: Kool 106[]

The station began operations on February 21, 1992, as Kool 106 under the call letters DYET. It was originally owned by the Associated Broadcasting Company (now TV5 Network Inc.). It carried a Hot Adult Contemporary format from 1992 to 1995 and CHR/Top 40 format from 1995 to 1998. At that time, their studio and transmitter were at the Sundowner Centerpoint Hotel along Plaridel St. and later moved to Beverly Hills, Lahug. It was only on May 31, 1998, when Kool 106 Cebu signed off for the last time.

1998-present: Home Radio[]

On June 1, 1998, Aliw Broadcasting Corporation acquired the station, changed its call letters to DYQC and rebranded it as 106dot7 Home Radio. At the same time, it moved to its current home at the Fortune Life Bldg. in Osmeña Blvd. The station carried an easy listening format on weekdays, with variety hits on Sundays. Its notable program was The Weekend Easy 10, wherein listeners can vote in for their favorite songs. In 2007, Home Radio Cebu carried a new slogan "Today's Hit Music" and switched to an Top 40 format.

On March 17, 2014, Home Radio Cebu, along with the other provincial stations, reformatted into a mass based format, carrying the slogan "Natural!" as a new format. On Easter Sunday 2015, the station switched to CHR format with an emphasis on OPM, simply known as CHR Local. By the end of 2015, Home Radio adopted the slogan "The Music of Now" and the catchphrase "The Home of the Millennials" and at the same time, it shifted to a full-fledged CHR station.

In July 2017, Home Radio (now read as one-o-six-seven) flipped back to its original easy listening format and carried-over the slogan "It Feels Good to be Home". In 2018, Home Radio's provincial stations started simulcasting DWIZ 882's program Karambola, thus allowing the station to include news and commentaries to the station's format. In 2021, the simulcast expanded to include the entire morning block of DWIZ 882.
