The yard patrol boat ran aground either on Chirikof Island, Aleutian Islands, Alaska, or in between Tugidak Island and Sitkinak Island. She either ran aground on 17 February and sank the next day or broke in two and sank on 23 February, or ran aground on 23 February and broke in two and sank later.[6][83]
