Dětřichov (Svitavy District)
Dětřichov (German: Dittersdorf) is a small village and municipality on the Bohemia-Moravia borderline in the Svitavy District of the Pardubice Region, Czech Republic. The village is located about 12 km northeast of Svitavy and 19 km northwest of Moravská Třebová and it is a part of the . The population as of 2008 was 315. The upper part of the village is called Víska (German: Stillfried) and the next part is a settlement Vysoké Pole (German: Hohenfeld) which is situated southeast in the middle of woods. Vysoké Pole was until 1945 mostly inhabited by Germans, but after the end of the World War II the settlement largely dissolved.

History[]
First written mention of the village dates from 1347 however a neolithic settlement from about 1000 BC was discovered near the village. Dětřichov was settled mostly by Germans until the end of World War II. After 1945, most German inhabitants were dislocated. The population decreased from 1104 inhabitants in 1921 to 328 in 1965.
Name[]
The original Latin name of the village Theodorici Villa was probably named after its founder Dieter (Czech: Dětřich) Theodorick. The German name was lately Ditersdorf (English: Diter's village). According to František Palacký the original Czech name is Jetřichova ves.
