Jablonné nad Orlicí (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjablonɛː ˈnat orlɪtsiː]; German: Gabel an der Adler) is a town in the Ústí nad Orlicí District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,100 inhabitants.
History[]
The town was first recorded as Gablona in 1304. Gablona means custom-house. Jablonné is mentioned in 1093 as a market village, but the first written record was in 1304. King Wenceslaus II of Bohemia gave Jablonné to Zavis of Falkenstein. In the 14th century Jablonné belonged to Zbraslav Monastery. In 1622 Karl I, Prince of Liechtenstein bought the village; his descendants held possession of the town until 1918.
