Qoʻngʻirot also spelled as Kungrad[1] (Uzbek: Qoʻngʻirot / Қўнғирот; Karakalpak: Qońırat / Қоңырат; Russian: Кунград) and Kungirot, formerly known as Zheleznodorozhny (Russian: Железнодорожный, until 1969), is a city in Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan, located in the Amu Darya delta[1] on the left bank of the river. It is the seat of Qoʻngʻirot District.[2] Population: 80,090 (2018).[3]
