Cities and towns in New Brunswick

The Canadian Province of New Brunswick has eight municipalities that hold city status. These eight cities had a cumulative population of 272,174 and an average population of 34,022 in the 2016 Census.[1] New Brunswick's largest and smallest cities are Moncton and Campbellton, with populations of 71,889 and 6,883, respectively.[2]

  2. ^ For the 2001 census, Edmundston's 1996 population of 11,033 was adjusted to 17,876 for comparison purposes to reflect a boundary change.

  4. ^ The Moncton census metropolitan area (CMA) includes the City of Dieppe.
  5. ^ Saint John is New Brunswick's second largest city by population and area. The Saint John CMA is formed around the City of Saint John.
