Pterodon is an extinct genus of superficially wolf-like hyainailurids that lived in Europe and Africa during the late Eocene, about 30 million years ago.[1]
Taxonomy[]
Pterodon nyanzae Savage, 1965 is now considered to be synonymous with Hyainailouros.[2] Likewise, the putative Asian species P. dahkoensis is now assigned to its own genus, Orienspterodon.[3]
