Show Me Your Voice is a French television mystery music game show that premiered on 22 April 2021 on M6.[1] It is based on South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice.

Gameplay[]

Format[]

A guest artist and group of two contestants are presented with a group of nine "mystery singers" — some of them are good singers, and some are bad. Contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group by guessing who they are without hearing them sing. They get assistance from clues by "celebrity panelists" over the course of five rounds. Contestants will eliminate one to two singers at the end of each round and then proceeding to perform on the "stage of truth". At the end, the winning mystery singer is revealed as good or bad by means of a duet with one of the guest artists.[2]

Rewards[]

If the last mystery singer is a good singer, the contestants win a cash prize of 20.000. On the other hand, if the last mystery singer is a bad singer, the same amount is given to the winning bad singer itself.

Rounds[]

There are nine individuals of mystery singers standing on a platform to keep identities concealed until the "stage of truth" performance.

  • Round 1: Lip sync (French: Le playback)

Separated into three groups, each group of mystery singers participate in a lip sync performance for one song each.

  • Round 2: Exhibition (French: Les pièces à conviction)

A proof of each mystery singer's singing ability (i.e. photo, video, certificates, etc.) is shown on the screen.

  • Round 3: Performance (French: La performance)

The guest artist and contestants must predict the remaining mystery singers based on other talents, except "singing" itself. It may unrelated to the stage of truth, but it depends on identity.

  • Round 4: Voice switch (French: Cachez la voix)

The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's voice, then a bad singer's voice comes in the middle of the performance.

  • Round 5: Interrogation (French: L'interview)

The guest artist and contestants must have then 30 seconds to interrogate the remaining mystery singers before making the final decision, but with voices being distorted.

Production[]

Background and development[]

The development of the series was traced back to September 2015 when Shine Group firstly announced that a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice is on the works, which didn't respond any further announcement by neither broadcaster.[3]

In February 2021, Groupe M6 was greenlit by relaunching the shelved programme and continue development after a six-year hiatus.[4] Produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production, the staff team is managed by director Guillaume Charles and producer Renaud Rahard.[5]

Filming[]

Episode tapings took place at unknown location in Paris. Since the first season, it was taped with enhanced health and safety protocols being implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[6]
