Ya vizhu tvoy golos (Russian: Я вижу твой голос, English: I Can See Your Voice) is a Russian television mystery music game show that premiered on 14 May 2021 on Rossiya-1.[1] It is an adaptation of the South Korean programme of the same name.

Gameplay[]

Format[]

A guest artist and contestant are presented with a group of six "mystery singers" — some of them are good singers, and some are bad. The contestant must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group by guessing who they are without hearing them sing. They get assistance from clues by "celebrity panelists" over the course of four rounds. The contestant will eliminate one to two singers at the end of each round and then proceeding to perform on the "stage of truth". At the end, the winning mystery singer is revealed as good or bad by means of a duet with one of the guest artists.[2]

Rewards[]

If the last mystery singer is a good singer, the contestant wins a cash prize of ₽1.000.000. On the other hand, if the last mystery singer is a bad singer, the same amount is given to that singer instead.

Rounds[]

There are six individuals of mystery singers standing on a platform to keep identities concealed until the "stage of truth" performance.

  1. First impression (Russian: Первое впечатление)
    The guest artist and contestant are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
  2. Phonogram (Russian: Фонограмма)
    Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to their own voices while bad singers mime to the voices of others.
  3. Phone hacking (Russian: Взлом телефона)
    Each mystery singer has a video package to convince the guest artist and contestant, but with voices being distorted.
  4. Interrogation (Russian: Допрос)
    The guest artist and contestant must have then 30 seconds to interrogate the remaining mystery singers before making the final decision.

Background and development[]

VGTRK first announced the development of the series through CJ ENM and Fremantle's joint agreement in November 2020.[3][4] The programme is produced by Studio WMedia.

During the programme, TikTok,  [ru], and the network itself jointly collaborated by launching a digital audition-based "karaoke marathon" companion event.[5]

Filming[]

Episode tapings took place at MosFilm Studio in Moscow and began on 22 April 2021.[6][7] Since the first season, it was taped with enhanced health and safety protocols being implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[8]
