The Signakh Uyezd (Russian: Сигнахский уезд; Georgian: სიღნაღის მაზრა) was an uezd (county) of the Tiflis Governorate of the Caucasus Viceroyalty of the Russian Empire, and then of Democratic Republic of Georgia, with its administrative center in Signakh (Signagi).^[1]^[2] The area of the uyezd roughly corresponded to the contemporary Kakheti region of Georgia.

History[]

Following the Russian Revolution, the Signakh Uyezd was incorporated into the short-lived Democratic Republic of Georgia.

The 1917 Caucasian Calendar which produced statistics of 1916 indicates 153,864 residents in the Signakh Uyezd, including 80,670 men and 73,194 women, 148,646 of whom were the permanent population, and 5,218 were temporary residents:^[4]
