1998 Pasay local elections
Local elections were held in Pasay on May 11, 1998 within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, the representative for the lone district, and the councilors, six of them in the two districts of the city.

Background[]
Incumbent Mayor Pablo Cuneta won't run for re-election. Incumbent Representative and former Mayor Dr. Jovito Claudio will run for mayor. He will be challenged by Vice Mayor Wenceslao "Peewee" Trinidad.
Incumbent Second District Councilor Greg Alcera will run as Vice Mayor.
Incumbent Representative Dr. Jovito Claudio is on second term, and he won't seek re-election. Instead, he will run as Mayor. Running in his place is Elinor "Elaine" Gamboa-Cuneta, wife of outgoing Mayor Pablo Cuneta. She will be challenged by Rolando Briones and Edita "Edith" Vergel de Dios.
