Local elections will be held in the Rizal on May 9, 2022, as part of the 2022 general elections. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a municipal/city mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the governor, vice-governor and representatives for the four districts of Rizal.[1]
Incumbent Rizal Governor Rebecca Ynares is on her third and final term, and illegible to run for re-election. Her husband, Presidential Adviser for Southern Tagalog and former Governor Casimiro "Ito" Ynares Jr., was supposed to run,[2] but later substituted by her daughter, GSIS Board of Trustee Nina Ricci Ynares.
Incumbent 2nd district Representative Juan Fidel Nograles will seek for his second term in this new district. He will be challenged by his predecessor Isidro Rodriguez Jr.
The seat is currently vacant upon the death of former representative Resureccion Acop. Acop's husband former representative Romeo Acop is running for the position unopposed.
All incumbents are running for re-election, except for Jestoni Alarcon who decided not to seek for another term despite being qualified to do so, hinting at returning to being a full-time actor instead. Incumbent Angono municipal councilor Jo Anne Saguinsin will run in his place.
On March 25, 2021, President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Republic Act 11533, "An Act Reappropriating the Second Legislative District of the Province of Rizal Into Three Legislative Districts". San Mateo and Rodriguez (Montalban) will become Third and Fourth District, respectively.[3] Incumbent board member Emigidio Tanjuatco III is running for congressman.

Incumbent board member Omie Rivera, who hails from San Mateo, will run for mayor. His party's nominee is John Patrick Bautista.

Incumbent Board Member Alexander "Bobot" Marquez will seek a comeback to Antipolo's second district's city council. His party chosen former Mayor Danilo "Nilo" Leyble, running for his fresh first term unopposed.
All municipalities and City of Antipolo in Rizal will elect mayor and vice-mayor this election. The candidates for mayor and vice mayor with the highest number of votes wins the seat; they are voted separately, therefore, they may be of different parties when elected. Incumbent Raul Palino is term-limited and is running for vice mayor. His party's nominee is Teresa’s vice mayor Jose Jeriel Villegas whose opponents are current barangay captain Romualdo Coralde and former mayor Rodel Dela Cruz.

Incumbent mayor Cristina Diaz is running for congresswoman of San Mateo. Her party's nominee is her husband and San Mateo's vice mayor Jose Rafael Diaz. His opponent is board member and former vice mayor Omie Rivera.
