Güroymak (Kurdish: Norşîn,[3] from Armenian: Նորշեն, Norshen) is a district of Bitlis Province, Turkey. The current mayor is Hikmet Taşdemir (HDP).[4]

Etymology[]

The original Armenian-Մարնիկ- name of the district is Norshen (Նորշեն), which is composed of nor meaning new, and shen meaning village. The Kurdish name of the district, Norşîn is copy of an Armenian name of this region.
