Çukurca (Kurdish: Çel,[3] Syriac: ܛܝܵܪܹܐ, romanized: Ṭyārē)[4] is a district of the Hakkâri Province of Turkey, close to Iraq. The mayor is Ensar Dündar (AKP).[5] The population is 5283 as of 2010.
The historical Assyrian tribe of Tyari was located in this district until the Assyrian genocide.
Climate[]
Çukurca has a hot-summer subtype (Köppen: Dsa) of the humid continental climate.
