Chimney Rock is an unincorporated community and USPS in Archuleta County, Colorado, United States. The Chimney Rock Post Office has the ZIP Code 81127.[2]

Geography[]

The town name is derived from a nearby rock formation known as Chimney Rock.

History[]

Chimney Rock is home of Chimney Rock National Monument in Archuleta County, Colorado, United States. It contains 200 ancient homes and ceremonial buildings, some of which have been excavated for viewing and exploration. Chimney Rock is the highest in elevation of all the Chacoan sites, at about 7,600 feet above sea level. The community was the setting of Marcy Cottrell Houle's book, Wings for My Flight.
