Line 1 of the Dongguan Rail Transit, (Chinese: 东莞轨道交通1号线; pinyin: Dōngguǎn Guǐdào Jiāotōng Yī Hào Xiàn), is a subway line under construction in Dongguan, Guangdong. It has a planned 26 stations and connect Huangpu Ferry Terminal in the North, to Cuihu in the south. The line will eventually connect with Guangzhou Metro Line 5 in the north, and Shenzhen Metro Line 6 in the south. This will link the Foshan, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Hong Kong rapid transit networks together. The first section of the first phase from Cuihu to Wuhan University in Shenzhen started construction in 2018.[1] The central section of Line 1 in Dongguan between Wuhan University and Wanghong Railway Station will start construction in September 2018.[2] The west section between Wangjiang Coach Terminal and Huangpu Ferry Terminal has no published timeline.
