Baskil (Kurdish: Baskîl)[3] is a town and district of Elazığ Province of Turkey. The mayor is İhsan Akmurat (AKP). The population of the town is 4869.[4]
In the 2019 local elections, AKP mayor İhsan Akmurat narrowly won reelection, beating the MHP candidate Tuncer Turus by 49.77% to 48.57%.[5]
