The inaugural first season of the Spanish television mystery music game show Veo cómo cantas premiered on Antena 3 on 8 September 2021.[1]
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this programme is filmed without audience and implemented health and safety protocols for this season.
Gameplay[]
Format[]
Under the original format, the contestant can eliminate one or two mystery singers after each round. The game concludes with the last mystery singer standing that depends on outcome of a duet performance with a guest artist.[2]
Rewards[]
The contestant must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving €3.000 if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestant may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it if they believe that the last remaining mystery singer is a good singer. If the singer is good, the contestant gets doubled of their earnings; if the singer is bad, the contestant loses all of their winnings and is given to the bad singer instead.
Rounds[]
Each episode presents the guest artist and contestant nine people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or join in the final performance.
- By the face (Spanish: Por la cara)
The guest artist and contestant are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance. - Lip sync (Spanish: Sincronización labial)
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording of someone's else. - Gossip my life (Spanish: Cotillea mi vida)
The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video clue package in which one of the mystery singers of their choice discusses their life and musical qualifications. Good singers are telling the truth, while bad singers are allowed to lie to deceive them. - Musical skill (Spanish: Habilidad musical)
The guest artist and contestant must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. It may unrelated to the stage of truth, but it depends on the mystery singer's identity. - Rehearsal (Spanish: Ensayo)
The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video recording from a studio session by one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice, although the audio is pitch-shifted so they cannot clearly hear their vocals. - Interrogation (Spanish: Interrogatorio)
The guest artist and contestant can converse and ask questions of one of the remaining mystery singers. As before, good singers must answer truthfully, while bad singers may lie.
