Season 2

The inaugural first season of the Canadian French-language television mystery music game show Qui sait chanter? premiered on Noovo on 13 September 2021.[1]

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this program is filmed without audience and implemented health and safety protocols for this season.

Gameplay[]

Format[]

Under the original format, the contestant can eliminate one or two mystery singers after each round. The game concludes with the last mystery singer standing that depends on outcome of a duet performance with a guest artist.[2]

Rewards[]

The contestant must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving CA$3,000 if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestant may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it if they believe that the last remaining mystery singer is a good singer. If the singer is good, the contestant wins CA$25,000; if the singer is bad, the contestant loses all of their winnings.

Rounds[]

Each episode presents the guest artist and contestant six people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or join in the final performance.

  1. Lip sync (French: Relecture)
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording of someone's else.
  2. Access code (French: Code d'accès)
The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video clue package in which one of the mystery singers discusses their life and musical qualifications. Good singers are telling the truth, while bad singers are allowed to lie to deceive them.
  3. Secret studio (French: Studio secret)
The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video recording from a studio session on each mystery singer, although the audio is distorted so they cannot clearly hear their vocals.
  4. Interrogation (French: Interrogatoire)
The guest artist and contestant can converse and ask questions of one of the remaining mystery singers. As before, good singers must answer truthfully, while bad singers may lie.
