Vayres (French pronunciation: [vɛʁ]; Occitan: Vairas) is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.

Sights[]
- The Château de Vayres (Vayres Castle). It was remodeled by the 16th-century French engineer , deceased 1611.
The castle was sold in 1583 by King Henry III of Navarre largely ruined, to , in charge of the treasury of Guyenne, a friend of philosopher and political thinker Michel de Montaigne. Ogier de Gourge commissioned a well-known architect, , who was building the Cordouan lighthouse and had worked for a few years for the king of Spain Philip II.
