La Madeleine (French pronunciation: [la madlɛn]) is a commune in the Nord department in northern France.
It is a suburb of the city of Lille, bordering it on its north side.
Heraldry[]
The arms of La Madeleine are blazoned : Sable, an eagle argent, beaked and membered Or. (La Madeleine and Pont-à-Marcq use the same arms.)

History[]
In 1944, Pierre Marchant and Lucien Olivier, two members of the French resistance from La Madeleine, were killed near Hill 60 (Ypres) by Germans.
